EXPERIENCE THE GLENELG RIVER
The Glenelg River system flows through the Lower Glenelg National Park into the estuary which flows into the Great Southern ocean. Majestic views and the pristine landscape make it an iconic river for canoeing and fishing. Nearby Simsons landing is available for water skiing. There are options to hire canoes or daily cruises on the Nelson Endeavour is the pefect relaxing experience to take in the views.
GREAT SOUTH WEST WALK
The Great South West Walk is right on our doorstep. This iconic Australian bush walk covers the region with majestic views of the Glenelg River & Lower Glenelg National Park. The multiple landscapes of the complete 250 walk also includes other national parks and rugged coastlines.
TAKE A DIP
The Estuary Beach where the Glenelg river meets the ocean is perfect for the kids and family. The perfect day trip with swimming, fishing or just a simple short walk to the river mouth and experience Ocean Beach is a perfect relaxing day out.
NELSON TOWNSHIP
At the heart of Nelson is the local pub and you will also find the information centre. BBQ area, playground, tenniscourt and basketball court are all located centrally to make for a great family experience. Drop a line in at any of the nearby landings.
THE LIMESTONE COAST
Base yourself in Nelson for day trips throughout the Limestone Coast. The beautiful coastal towns of Port MacDonnell, Beachport and Robe can all be taken in a day. For wine lovers you can't go past the world famous Coonawarra region or visit the historic Naracoorte caves. For a challenging climb the nearby extinct volcano Mount Schank allows you to climb up around the rim and if you have the energy down into the crater. MOUNT GAMBIER & THE BLUE LAKE
Mount Gambier is a short 20 minute drive North. Here you will find the world famous Blue Lake. The Blue Lake is part of the volcanic crater lakes and is a must see. Mount Gambier has many wonderful experiences with the Umpherston sinkhole and caves garden sinkhole at the main corner next to the impressive Mount Gambier library. All your shopping needs are covered on Commercial Street or with the 2 main shopping centres.
NELSON DINING & EATING OPTIONS
While our home has a gourmet kitchen for you to utilise you may want to put your feet up and let someone else do the work. You can't go past the Nelson pub for a good honest meal and frothy. The local service station has takeaway food, ice-creams and a selection of basic requirements, bait and ice.
FINE DINING
A short 15 minute drive is The Barn Steakhouse for a fine dining experience sampling the finest aged steaks with a selection of wines from their award winning cellar. Mayura Station was 2017 SA Tourism award winner. The locally produced full blooded Wagyu steak is some of the finest in the world. The on-site tasting room is a food lovers experience not to be missed. The Bay Pizzeria & Cafe and Salt Cafe & Bar in Port MacDonnell are a great choices and well worth the drive. The Commodore and Thyme at the Lakes are two fine dining options if travelling to Mount Gambier.

A selection of cafe's not to be missed are Sorrentos, Metro Bakery & Cafe and Presto Eatery. Pizza & Pasta lovers can't go past the award winning Cafe Belgiornos. There are multiple selections of varied cultural dining options along with numerous pubs in the Mount. McDonalds, Fasta Pasta, KFC, Hungry Jacks, Zambrero's, Subway, Dominoes and numerous franchise take-away options are all available in Mount Gambier.
